What to wear?

A call came through yesterday to say that I have an interview for next week!

I've been searching through some of the street style blogs to get some inspiration for what to wear. I've always worked in dress down work environments so find choosing an outfit for interviews really tough. Too often, I end up looking overly corporate which just makes me feel uncomfortable. I really like what the girl in the photo above is wearing. I already have my interview failsafe black dress that comes down to the knee but like the idea of wearing it with a black blazer (with the pushed up sleeves of course!), brown belt and the heeled brogues.

What do you think? Interview appropriate? Any suggestions more than welcome!!

I think that outfit is very cute. I think I might even conjure up a version of it from things in my closet. Blazers are always a nice extra touch to a black dress. Plus when the sleeves are pushed up, you look more relaxed and comfortable. I would pair a cute belt underneath the blazer for a little flair as well. :) GOOD LUCK!!!

It's a failsafe look - LBD and blazer. Spruce it up with some fun jewelry (to show you have some personality)!

Good luck! xx

thanks:-) Agree with id about outfit, a black dress and a blazer sounds like a good option.

I'm with you...the interview outfit is always a bit of a drama. I'm not a huge suit fan (for myself) so always feel uncomfortable if I wear one, which is never a good start for an interrogation situation! :oD

This little black outfit is lovely, perfectly understated and looks super comfy - I especially love the blazer. I think it would be perfect for an interview for a marketing role, as it's stylish without being too manicured. You can then use your accessories to express your creativity.

Hope it all goes fabulously well and be sure to update us on a) how it went and b) the outfit you actually wore!! :o)
